Pretty simple really, but I don't want a replay saying :search: - I've looked on Google and up pops quite a few options, but I've not heard of any of them.

Does anyone here use an open source hosting control panel, similar to cpanel - that they can easily recommend?

I'm wandering into the realms of webservers and don't want to fork out for a cpanel license, even though I've used it for a few years and found it to be perfect. So I'm looking for an open source alternative at this point.

Looks promising! I put open source, as I didn't want to have to pay for it and I wanted something that was up-to-date as it were, but free versions are as good as.

On a side note, how come you always end up answering my questions? I need a brain like yours!

Do you have a link to their site? I can't seem to find it anywhere. And I guess I'll pass on the pron brain! Mine's full enough of the stuff as it is.

That'll do, as I now have something to compare them to.
I suppose that's a possibility - and I guess I could always create a 'portal' to access them all from within.

Thanks for all the help both of you, I'll do some more research into those you've come up with and try one or two out for real.

Exactly, just a simple (static) HTML file with links to the correct URL's is all it needs, easy, simple, and maintainable, at 0.0 cost. You put in what you want/like, and hold back what you dislike/don't use.

The thing I like about CP's though is that most come with Fantastico.

Google pulled that up for me - just tried out their online demo and it seems pretty slick. It has all the features I'd need - as I prefer installing packages separately, compared to relying on cpanel to have the most-up-to-date version and naming my databases for me.

Uh, not sure if you'd noticed, but you're replying to a thread that was posted nearly 6 years ago... Thanks for the help, but I'm pretty sure the OP has sorted it now! ;)

Yeah, I sort of realised that after posting... :D I didn't really consider that it was a spammer at first!
