The big lady in the helmet has come on stage to announce the latest version of Opera (yes, that other alternative to IE) has a new version, that will hopefully help "kill the phishers". This from PCWorld:

Internet browser company Opera Software has added features for tighter security and the ability to surf the Web with voice commands in the latest version of its browser, Opera 8 for Windows and Linux, launched Tuesday.

Opera, in Oslo, sees the security issue as one it can leverage to carve into Microsoft's dominance of the browser market with its Internet Explorer.

"We think that security is the reason why people would want to switch browsers," says Opera spokesperson Eskil Sivertsen.

Had the beta version for a while now, it's nice :)
Not had a chance to test the voice control though.

\o/ Opera 8 is awesome. 2 million downloads since it's released. And, despite what many users think, it's actually quite easily customizable! Perhaps not as complex as you can customize Firefox, but it suffices. There is for example an ini-file that contains all the menus, which you can easily edit and so remove, change, or even add menus, menu-items and even sub-menu's, that do whatever you want. It's in the style of "Title" = "Command", where command can be any (enumeration of some) of the many commands available in Opera, and/or a javascript script. You can also "drag'n'drop" every button around. You can even add your own buttons, in the same style like you can change the menus.

This very extensive wiki on customizing Opera is perfect for all modders out there.
