I have one of these.......... Right here are my plans any tips / comments would be much aprechited. 1. Cover the side and top panels with black vynal covering. 2. Paint the power and reset buttons black. **Done** 3. Add window and blowhole as shown in the diagram below... 4. Add blue power LED and put leds behind the 2 front grills. 5. Add a blue cold cathode. 6. Maybe add 2 handels to the top and maybe a LCD. What you guys think ? anyone tried a similar arrangement on their side panel ? all comments apprechiated
i'd switch the places of the blowhole and the window, or put the blowhole in the window. Whatever you do I suggest having the blowhole over your cards...it would be more efficient cooling
Well i was thinking of buying one of the windows on CCM with a built in fan but i was wondering don't fans on windows vibrate like hell and make a racket ? also if i switched the places of the 2 it would show my drives more rather than my MB
then i say make your own window. make it big, and just cut around where you want the fan to go...if that makes sense. i couldn't even fit a fan where you're looking to put that one, because of my drive cages... i'm not sure about the vibration noise of a fan in a window, but with a window kit, i think you won't hear the vibration because of how the window is mounted in the rubber.
i have a window with a fan cut-out... there is very little vibrationg because the locking strip makes the plexi-glass fit tightly. Also, with a 120mm fan on the side, its loud enuff to flush out vibration noise. It also helps to have a 7000rpm fan which has this high "eeehhhh" whining sound to it. i went with the fan cut out because i didnt want to lose air flow while putting a window in. My case is a smaller mid-tower, my 12x12 window takes up about the whole side panel!!!
Im not doing any overclocking ATM but i just want to improve case ventelation a little and i think it will look prity cool too next to my window with a cathode behind it
My OCS order should have arrived today so ive got a few of my supplys 1 80mm Fan Grill 1 3m Length 1.6mm Clear Spiral Wrap 1 3m Length 4.2mm Clear Spiral Wrap 1 Fan Fixing Kit **Would have got a bit-tech badge but there on 10 day order ** im sure i ordered summot elce too but can't remember LOL I shall be nipping down to mappers for a few supplys on saturday (LED's, PVC Beading, Etc)
Nice plans - but DO DO DO get an LCD They are so coooool - me looks at 20x4 displaying stats and 40x4 displaying winamp info on my mp3box and grins
The windows about 80% cut but i need to go get some more cut off wheels tomorrow used 4 so far . Should get the blowhole and window finished tomorrow if i can get some PVC Molding from mappers (if its in stock basically) and if Focus do it all sell clear acrylic for the window
I walked out of maplin in a mood today no blowhole molding or minicraft cut of wheels in stock "oh we will have to order that for you" "no thanks" **walks out** every time i go in lately nothing is in stock it used to be great of well ill order some online or maybe go to the leeds superstore
