It is my opinion that the HTPC & Media center forum should be recombined with the Audio-Visual forum. HTPCs fit well in the audio-visual forum before separation, and by dividing them the subject of HTPCs in the AV section (which actually has traffic) has fallen off. But no-one looks in the HTPC section. Three days without a post, and no-one is currently viewing it with 200 members online. I think that in the case of bit-tech, there is a trend toward division and cordoning off of ever increasingly specific areas. Leave the HTPCs with the Audio-Visual, and make it a one-stop deal instead of needing to go to 2 different forums to discuss a topic that is esentially the same. The HTPC forum has become a place where threads go to die, and also has made it take .01 seconds longer for me to scroll from Audio Visual to General Discussion.
Personally I do not think audio & visual is the same as htpc. The audio & visual forum is very general such as what are good headphones/speakers questions. Plus the htpc area is quite new and niche, so I would not expect as much traffic through there. Maybe the definition of what is posted in a&v should be redefined though. As the PC questions (such as how do I connect my PC to a TV) should be moved into htpc as this is more a specific question the htpc forum.
Hehe...exactly..I understand your concern, thecrownles, but we haven't really had a chance to get the content running for it yet...at which point we expect to see the traffic move up considerably.
It's an ever growing area, and will only continue to expand. With the release of Windows Media Center your going to see a lot more about HTPC in the coming months and years. Got to say I like the direction the forums are moving in.
