The first thing that all of you are forgetting is that those boxes are PLASTIC, not metal. And you cant chrome plastic There are other methods that provide a similar result to chroming, the quickest way to find out would be to find the bit in the orac thread that tells you how he did it.
Yes you can chrome plastic, as seen in those pictures You just have to paint it in a conductive metal paint first, this is what was done with orac. You can get a simular effect by sanding and polishing metal, this is the cheaper method.
Welcome to the boards! (wee! another Norwegian! ) if i remember correctly the plastic boxes are coated with a cunductive paint first that the crome can stick to... (this is a chemical/electrical process i think) (BTW: it's spelled Ace ventura )
Atomic you beat me too it I have some chrome spray paint I'm going to use on my other case to see how it looks. My Mum used the gold version over christmas (no on a pc for some christmas type things or somethign) and I used some of it on a test piece of plastic and it looks good. Although there was bubbling it was extremely cold and I hadn't cleaned the plastic
