Sure, it's a muddy and confusing picture but if the authorities want to start cleaning those places up then I can't think of a better opportunity.
Mr awesome award goes to Chris Mintz for eating 7 shots & attacking the fecker & surviving, hope he swiftly recovers use of his legs. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ive-times-charged-Oregon-college-shooter.html Man I had a look at that thread, quite a bunch of rotten scumbags.
In what way are they different then? Both are in wide spread use and both kill thousands of people each year, maybe I'm just being dumb but I don't understand why one should have strict controls placed on it and the other not. Because when using the Root cause analysis method of problem solving if we removed the shooting part, the things killing people, the removal thereof from the problem-fault-sequence prevents the final undesirable event from recurring. How would you solve the problem?
^ I agree completely. I think some of confusion stems from people saying they want "guns banned" when they actually mean "more strictly controlled" (in effect "banning casual gun ownership"). Unfortunately however, there are people who argue that almost anyone should be able to own (and even carry) a "gun", purely because the 2nd amendment says they have the right to defend themselves. These tend to be the ones who think that more guns is the answer. IMO the only way more guns can solve the problem is if they cover every square metre of the country in weapons, 20ft deep.
your american arent you. Maybe the government should do something about control.... as it seems to be out of control according to some informative posts in this thread.
Does anyone question the validity of these corporate media stories at all these days? The power of the media is a very scary thing indeed.
Can't be any worse than the power of the NRA, don't they fund something like %50 percent of congressmen and rate them on their voting history?
This is the single point that is falling on utterly deaf ears in the US. They just don't seem to be able to fathom that there IS a very wide middle ground here - it's not black and white, all guns or no guns. In every country I've found where stricter control has been introduced - the UK included since the Dunblane massacre, it HAS reduced gun-related deaths, including those of school shootings. It won't eliminate them - as has been said, they'll be able to find a way, but if it's that much harder, especially if you have even the slightest hint of mental health issues, surely, as the overwhelming evidence suggests, that introducing them and cutting the amount of shootings by 50% or even 10% would be worth it?
Isn't that how the NRA want's to frame the debate though? From what I've read and seen in the media the NRA pushes the narrative that gun control is very much a black & white issue, an either or situation, that gun control is the thin edge of the wedge and will ultimately lead to taking peoples guns away.
Another shooting http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-34450841 I remember when they just used to throw dirt or start pulling hair. This stood out in that article too: It beggars belief.
Playing devils advocate hear, if we armed all children this sort of thing wouldn't happen... What America needs is more guns, children should trained in the use of firearms and carry a gun as soon as their able to hold one, the only way to stop a bad 11 year old child with a gun is to have a good 11 year old child with a gun.
I vaguely recall a few test situations where adult students were "armed" when a "gunman" stormed their class. Paintball guns I believe. IIRC, most froze up and did **** all, and the ones that tried screwed up the draw and were shot before the gun left the holster. I think maybe one guy pulled it off, but he spent hours a week at a range or something, or the family was big into shooting in general or something.
Better arm the 8 year olds too, huh? I want everybody in the world to understand this: he would have killed her even if he didn't have a gun, right? It's obvious. Guns at birth is the only way for us all to be safe, me thinks. We need more guns!!!!111!!!11!! Edit: oop - should have looked at the threads above... soz.
*Yes sure, what could possibly go wrong. What better way to learn hand-eye coordination than with deadly weapons? Children also need to learn what to do if they stumble upon a weapon in the playground. /Sarcasm. *Being devils advocate again.
