So, just trying to relax and play a bit of Mirror's Edge Catalyst before bed, and it looks as though Origin has had a major update AND I CAN'T PLAY MY ****ING GAME. Anyone else having the same problem? EDT: Turns out you should quit and restart Origin...
I hate Origin as well. No desktop scaling for high resolution monitors, even though it's been constantly requested on the EA forums for the past 3 years.
The 3 golden rules that fix everything: 1) Turn it off and on again. 2) Blow into it. 3) Hit it. Also I am content with Origin. Just like any other company, they'd obviously have a lot better support and less problems if they didn't just cheap out on using India.
I *hate* Origin! Every. Single. Time. It. Patches... they forget your email login and password FFS!!!
Yeah I noticed that as well. They must have a very inexperienced dev team. Remembering a login after a patch is the simplest thing... Steam has had that as long as I can remember, and is a better platform by a mile in so many other ways too. As an example related to what I mentioned above, desktop scaling works perfectly in Steam.
I like a client if/when it does the thing it should do. There are valid criticisms for everything but too many just crap on anything not Steam due to indoctrination.
