I was planning a new mod and trying to come up with something slightly original. So the question is, has anyone tried this.

Take a Lian Li/Coolermaster case. Replace the front bezel with a molded plastic one, remove all fans/windows/lighting and paint the case a Beige colour.

Finnaly i thought it could be complimented with some Optical drives that are close but not quite the same colour as the rest of the case.

    Whatcha think?

well the first thing you must realize is there are no original ideas, all ideas have already been thought of. Its more the way you choose to render them (putting your own spin on them) just look around a machines and cars and stuff for inspiration something will come to you

That is surely not true, and is increadibly defeatist! There are always ideas that no-one has thought of... the trouble is, thinking of them!

On the other hand, you're point is true... the idea need not be unique to be a good mod - what you need is a good implementation.

Turning a pre-mod case into a beige unmodded case? That would be reverse-modding or de-modding :D

Anyway, you should build your own case from the bottom up. Start from scratch (tsjikka-tsjikka)

Try not to use mod-stuff u buy at computerstores..

Look at electronics & architecure, design etc. for inspiration
