i added a 1x1 acrylic bar to the bottom front facia, where the usb ports were. it lights up when the power is on and hdd are active. a little original, a little aesthetically pleasing yeah, my hdd led could be brighter...doh! edit - resized image
I've never seen it done before, but how about a spectrum analyzer instead of the standard left / right vu meter?
Yea man, that's awesome. ANOTHER GREAT IDEA (just had it actually...) Okie, get a printed-circuit-board type patern, draw it on your side panel, then cut it out with the dremel. (If any parts fall out, epoxy small strips of plexi to hold them in place) Green, blue, or Yellow CCFL backlighting.
[rant]I may point out that I came up with that idea, and had done it in one of my older cases to power a 24v fan[/rant] It's all good
I modded a 12v brick into a molex attachment. You moved it out of the Mod Guides section because I couldn't get pics... IF I TAKE THEM BUT YOU HOST THEM (I have not a lot of bandwidth) will you move it back there? </ot>
I can't host them. I have an arangment where I get free hosting, but I can't share it sorry. A few guys around here will host images though.
I have an arrangement where I get hosting, but 5,000 views a month and i'm finished. SO far with 4 days my Project Analouge has gotten down to like 4300. I'll dig up the thing and take pics, then try to aqquire hositng. It owuld be a good idea if my 12v adapters didnt magically give me 13.8v
I can only speak for myself, but I was inspired by another case. After that it's imagintion.. I wrote once something to the effect that "Imagination is your greatest tool" ...something like that...sounded good at the time anyway! LOL Really though..if you see a modded case you really like, or anything you really like...look at it, study it and let your imagination take over. There is nothing you can't do as long as you plan and have the commitment to do it. DDK
Ah, okay... Well, I really didn't make the analyzer. It's a pull from a dead car eq/booster. However, you could probably make one from a few of those led VU meters with each tuned to a specific range of frequencies.
