u need a bunch of band pass filters to do that altron (time to bring the conversation back on topic i think) just google for it and it shouldnt be too difficult to find

im thinking about doing a custom rack mounty type thing with a bunch of computers in serving net / files etc but with built in 16 port switch and KVM switch. oh and the motherboards would plug into the back of the box so no fiddleing with hundreds of wires every time i want to play with a motherboards settings / wipe the bios cos i screwed up. all powered on / off by a single power button

EDIT the rack thing has probably been done before but i havent seen it so please dont hurt me

I doubt I was the first, but I modded the red LED in my mouse to a blue. When I did it I thought I was the first, then noticed I wasn't the only one :p

Scuse the bumpage - I meant to post first time around but missed doing so.

Well I think these were original to me but I've seen people do the same thing as each other independantly before, so who knows...
Mostly from another forum tho, sorry.

    My First Mod Pic

    Delta Ignition Mod

    Remote Power Switch

Stealth fan grille & inner tube ducting
Not my best idea, I forgot rubber will perish after a few months in a hot PC case. Worked ok while it lasted though.

120mm PSU mod and WTXed case

    Moulded mesh bezel

I'm sure I missed a few but I hope we'll all think of a few more in future, anyway. :dremel:

BTW Zap - although I mentioned how to do independant IDE LEDs here http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13090, it was a little while before you joined, so you might not have seen it but I certainly wasn't the first, anyway. ;)
Lol, clicking my old google link puts your guide to the top of the search now, congrats.

Cool, I found out later that it had been done before.

But I think I at least put up the first full guide.

Didn't mean to take anything away from you - you've definitely inspired a lot of kicking stuff anyway. :thumb:

    More power to you.. :hip:

Here's one I did a while back. Not too sure if it's original, but I've got a couple mods here:

-Wood veneer for covering optical drives.
-Analog meters replacing Power and HDD activity LEDs.

    :eeek: Nice case!

I think I'm the first on Bit to mess with industrial PC stuff. Look here at my current, poor looking progress :)

I don't know when Zap did his Live! optical out, but I rigged one before I jouned Bit. I never posted it becaue it was doen for pennied witha CD digital cable, a small red LED, and a short lenkd of ballpoint pen ink tube.

I have a few I thought up earlier during the semester, but never got to. Maybe I'll have a few cool ones to call my own soon :)

Bob Squad! Welcome to the boards! :thumb: Way to do a first post!

Bob Squad is a regular at Ars forums, and shows up occasionally on pheaton and possibly elsewhere, as if the pic he posted were not introduction enough. :dremel:

here are a few of my own/original mods

1- I steathed my optical mouse by placing it upside down into the keyboard tray flush with the tray,
I then placed a piece of etched acrylic on top, with the pad I choose it just moves around like normal to activate left and right functions I simply push on the side I want.
I went and reversed the mouse buttons through windows mouse settings.
the top pad can be any shape, I just used this for testing...
no wires, no mouse. here's a pic

it works as good as before or better.

2-also installed mirrored window on right side. Of name tag, equipment list. That changes colour under cold cathode lighting, gold lettering changes to silver and window glows blue (pic of in day light, almost dark and what name tag says.)can be changed easily when upgrading.

3- keyboard, it is built into tray along with remote for speakers and a window for blue lighting.

I have many many more, also please correct me if I'm wrong or that someone else has done these mods first

look at this maybe this will help...

this might give insight on what I did.
the piece of acrylic that is etched stays still there is a little one on top that moves like a mouse would (3'16" thick)
also the top small piece has two little holes so you can rest your fingers in sorta speak, for control or if you ever have to recenter the pointer you just squeeze you fingers together and lift slightly just like you would with a normal mouse.
