Currently, I have a 64gb SSD with OS on it, and 2 x 2tb in RAID 1 with media and stuff on it.

I want to reformat, and put a fresh install on my SSD, as I believe I've got a virus I can't get rid of using software, but what will happen to my RAID array?

Literally, I will flatten the SSD, and start again, but I don't want to lose anything on my media drives.......

Is the raid hardware or software?

If it's a hardware raid there should be no problem after you load the raid driver in the OS it will show up exactly as it was before the reformat unless you have your doc's save there and then you will need to reconnect the links.

Software raid I'll defer to someone else

As above. If it is a hardware RAID, you'll have no issues formatting the SSD and reloading.

It shouldn't matter in any case. As said if you created the arrays with motherboard controller or add on card at it's bios level it's going to be fine.
Even if you used Windows to create a software raid it keeps all that info on the array disks, not on the boot drive (or it should anyway). I've migrated spanned/jbod arrays created through Windows diskmanager between installs and other machines for that matter before without any issues so I wouldn't see any reason other types of arrays would be any different. Sometimes they don't show up automatically, but as offline foreign disk and you simply have to initialize and import.
