Development OSCommerce/Paypal help?

Hey guys,

looking for a bit of php help here,

I have a friend who is running a small lacrosse mesh sales business to make qa bit on the side while at uni, and it is basically acting like a pile of piss.

He has no knowledge of php, but I have coding experience so if someone can chuck us some help I can implement it.

The shopping cart is a basic OScommerce template and Paypal is the payment option. When an order is placed using a Paypal account through the Paypal payment interface after selecting things in the OSCommerce cart, a Paypal notification of payment AND an invoice detailing what was bought+the shipping address is sent to his email. When an order is made using a debit/credit card (one that isn't connected to a Paypal account) through the Paypal interface after using the OSCommerce cart, the Paypal payment notification email is sent but not the invoice detailing the shipping address and the actual items bought.

Obviously, this is a massive inconvenince and really unprofessional so he'd like to resolve it asap. His Paypal account is a Merchant account.

Could someone give me some advice on this or maybe chuck us a bit of code?

Or in all extremities reccomend a Commerce suite that isn't as annoying as a hooker with the syph.

Does OSCommerce not have order tracking that can provide all of those details built-in?

 

I haven't personally taken a look at it so I can't give an honest answer at the mo,

but my friend likes to look over things to get an idea, and if there was order tracking he would of probably mentioned it to me.

OS Commerce do have integrated order tracking and the payment option is Paypal. however, the order tracking rarely works. I think it only works when ppl use a Paypal account to pay me money rather than just using their credit card through the paypal interface.

IS this an issue for me, Paypal, or the OS Commerce forum?

Any suggestions?

The site has order tracking but it rarely actually tracks orders and i simply receive a notification of payment from Paypal with no idea what was actually ordered as I (generally) receive no invoice form my site.

 

I think it might be an issue with paypal, as they provide the callback afaik

EDIT: I should add ive not used osCommerce since it was renamed whic was what, 4 years ago , so take it with a pinch of salt
