Anyone else been watching this show? It premiered last month and only has 4 or 5 eps under its belt... I'm loving this show, very engaging, interesting and popcorn friendly :)

It seems that the cable networks are pumping out some seriously good shows compared to the drivel the networks are spewing.

Jea I just downloaded and watched episode 1 and 2...
It's fantastik...it really shows the hell that the men and women who
serve(d) in Iraq, are going through...
Hopefully it opens the eys of the people who support that stupid war!!!
Great show like "dad said"!!! :thumb:

The show's creators and producers have gone to great lengths to try and make people understand that their show isn't a political forum for or against the war. The show is about the people who are serving, their families and what they are going through - in fact, it could have been any war, it's just that Iraq is the subject because of it's relevance to the current situation.

Jea I got that...BUT (most of) the people who support(ed) (the) war
don't know what war really means ergo they dont know what they
support...and this show is ment to show what the soldiers and their familys
have to go through...(basicly a dokumentation)
So what I was trying to say was, that looking at this show
could (and hopefully does) change their relation to suporting war...even if it is not intended by the producers...
    Get what I mean???

I've been watching since it started and I love it. I'm glad they didn't try to make it a political vehicle for or against the war...just show what the soldiers and their families have to endure. Great, engaging television.

Dad, I see by your avatar that you are a fellow BSG fan...w00t! Another great television show. It's refreshing that in a time when the masses gorge on crap like Survivor, there are still good shows like BSG, Over There, Rescue Me, the Shield, etc.

Watched the first two episodes, first was pretty bland, but things livened up a bit in the second.
It's a bit NYPD Blue in Baghdad.

Stories are a bit one dimensional, would be better if they worked on some character development on the Iraqis as well as the US soldiers, just to add a bit more depth

It does show a bit of promise, dot the next two episodes ready to watch when I get home.
    Then Wanted with Garry Cole.

That's what I'm saying! Yea, it was a little slow in the beginning, but the more you watch, the more you get hooked :)

Yea, I know. I'm so friggin tired of reality tv and the stuff they shovel on the networks. Thank god there's a respite to be had on SciFi, TLC, Discovery and FX.

It's a darn good show. FX puts out a lot of good stuff... The Shield and Nip/Tuck are awesome.

I love "The Shield" Been a fan since the beggining. I haven't seen "Over There" but I hear nothing but good things.

Why is it that FX has all the good shows and their Parent channel Fox has mostly crap shows and affiliations like FoxNews. Lame...

Okay, the season is almost over, so what are people's impressions on the show as a whole? Last night's ep I think was the best one yet.. The series started out a bit slow, but became much better the further along it went. Kind of like Battlestar Galactica did when it premiered. I just hope that Over There kicks ass in season 2 like BSG did! :D
