I have 2 DVDs worth of stuff i want to burn; one at 4505meg and the other at 4535meg. I have 4.7GB DVDRs but nero reads the disks as 4.48GB and wont even give me the option to overburn the last few meg :grr: :grr:

Its Nero 5.5.10.28 i think, does Nero 6 give you the option?? Or how do i do it?

I know some of the earlier nero 6's didnt let you overburn. there was a fix for it.
I've never tried to overburn a DVD-R though. Come to think of it.. the overburn settings in the nero preferences box only relate to CD-r.

    hmmm. sorry dude, cant help.

i was on the understanding you couldn't overburn them, something to do with the way dvd's are read and that any thing over the normal size would render the disc useless.

that might only relate to dvd movies though.

Yea, its only in relation to CDs not DVDs

The thing is the disks say 4.7gig. DVDs are meant to be 4.7gig, yet Nero stops at 4.5gig and i only need another 5-35meg!!

    :grr:

DVDs dont hold 4.7GB, they hold 4.7G (4,700,000,000 bytes), which is actually 4,489 MB.
sorry, didnt read your first post properly mate.
