I've seen plenty of videos on youtube to show how to overclock AMD processors (Im obviously using AMD:l) And almost every video's bio's looked the same maybe alittle bit of different wording but when I went to mine it was COMPLETELY different they warned me it could be alittle different but its not bios its cmos and when I found the over clocking area it all didn't resemble any of the videos I seen, and I can't find one that even looks similar to mine http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0342512 Thats the mobo I have and an AMD Athlon II x4 640 quad core 3.0ghz For now I only have a stock cooler so I only wanna go to 3.2ghz but when I get my aftermarket cooler im going to push it to 3.6ghz But can anyone help with my overclocking?
For a simple overclock just go into the bios and bump the CPU/ HT and leave the rest of the settings on auto. If you're going for a bigger overclock then you might have to up the voltage, but I wouldn't do that on the stock cooler as they are pretty feeble.
Ik all that but like the interface is completely different when I seen the videos its all like "See this number (Numbers say 260) Up it by 5 eachtime and check if its stable" I did that and it didn't even up my clock its still at 3.0ghz I upped it by 20 so it should be like 3.1 or 3.2 but its not its still 3.0ghz and I don't get why my interface is so different its not an old mobo I built this on christmas
Well I figured it out, cpu-z says core clock is 900mhz but I just went back to bios and it shows me the exact CPU Mhz and I overclocked it from 3.0 to 3.3 sense im only on my stock cooler and everythings stable. And thanks for you're help
CPU-Z is probably showing the idle speed, once you load up the CPU it should give you the correct reading. Anyway glad it's all sorted
