Okay I want to get the most out of my little monster. When I OC my CPU to 3.0 it changes my FSB: DRAM ratio (Stock ratio is 5:6 - OC is 1:1). The ram is OCZ Vista upgrade DDR2 800 5-5-5--15 @ 1.8v. with stock clock the DRam is @ 400Mhz. When I OC its @ 375Mhz. I was wondering if changing the timings would give me better performance and how would I do this? Also make my Ram run faster. Any other ideas that would help this monster that could, that would be great!
Your memory is currently running at 750Mhz as you need to double the FSB as its DDR2 to get the actual number if you are using a 1:1 ratio. There are plenty of basico overclocking guides out there which will give you some idea of the basics. It's not as simple as just changing one thing, it is all connected and takes time and patience
you could change the memory timings in the memory submenu of your board, i'm not sure where that is with Asus boards, or if your mobo even has it. What you could do is try to raise the voltage a bit on the momory to create some more headroom. Another thing you could try is just running 400x8 for a healthy 3,2 Ghz. Thay would put your processor right in line with your memory
