I recently got my overclock stable on my i7-2600k at 4.2ghz and 1.28v. It passed prime for 10 hours so I stopped it and shut the computer down and went to bed. I turned it back on a few days later and I was greeted by this wonderful message This seems to happen every time I OC. It works for a while, and then this happens, the mobo loads the default settings, and I have to start all over. My mobo is a GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, and if there is any other info I could provide that would help just let me know, im at work atm and will be off in a couple hours, so it might take a while
Just a point, I've OC'd my 2600 to 4.2GHz by just turning up the multiplier value and it's been completely fine if thats as far as you wanna take it..
may b add a Little to QPI/vtt voltage as i think stock is 1.050v so manually set it as u have 16GB ram it may help with stability also update bios to newest and back up bios helps with stability link for your board http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios.html
I got an error like that when my CMOS battery died with my old mobo. If overclock is stable in windows you could try replacing the battery to see if it helps.
I've seen errors at just over 23 hours and wouldn't call a system stable until it had at least reached 24. On the other hand if your system is only on for 10 hours at a time then it may be acceptable.
Yeah, this is what I've heard, especially with my board in particular. Wish I would have known about this site before I bought all the parts. Ha
Thats my problem. I had it at 4.2 for a while and thats when this happened the first time, about 2 months ago i believe. Ive also tried 4 even and 4.5 and the same thing keeps happening
I will be updating the bios later today to see if that helps at all, i just have to find my usb stick lol
