Right I'm having a few problems O/C'ing my system since installing my new xp1700..... I am begining to wonder if it is my motherboard that is causing the problem as I have read in a couple of places, including on these boards that there have been some stability issuses with the Epox 8K3A.

    Here's what's in my system:

xp1700 JIUHB DLT3C (with exactly the same core info as ones that are getting 2.2-4GHz)
    Epox 8K3A Motherboard
    2 x Corsair 256mb XMS2700
    Radeon 9500@9700
    NIC card
    Firewire card
    2 x 40gb Maxtor DX740
    1 x 80gb Maxtor DX740
    Asus CDRW
    Antec Trueblue 480w Psu
    Watercooled

Previously I was running a xp1600 (locked) it would run at 166 x 10.5 - 1743 Mhz with the memory times at the most agressive.

Now I can't get my mew T-Bird to do anything over 12 x 166 @1.5v. I have backed all the memory timings down to try and remove that from the equation as much as possible.

The system will boot at 13 x 166 (@1.6v core) but prime 95 is totally unstable - returning rounding errors.

but - as soon as I start rasing the fsb to anying much over 170, no matter what mulitplier I use it gets really flakey and will blue screen before booting more times than not....

I know that not all cpus will clock the same and I'm not expecting it to but judging by others experiences I should be able to get more than this.....

I have tried other settings in between these but have given these ones as examples where I have run into difficulty.

Also the temp reading in bios is around 50c, this seems very high but I remember reading omething about the temp readings or this board being off... my old chip however was much cooler... is this because there is no internal temp sensors on palaminos?

Any help and / or fault finding suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is really doing my head in, if anymore info is needed to make a diagnosis please ask....

I'm on the verge of buying a new mobo & ram and chucking this lot out the window.

    :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Many thanks in advance - please help me save my sanity :D
