No way as fast as it could go if i had decent memory, but then again, the mobo is a bit lame.

    thanks big z....

your clock is great too...the fx 53 looks rather nice...:D

was thinking of getting a 3.4northy just to attain some higher speeds...arround 4.5ghz, this 2.8 is a great clocker though and i like the high fsb cos i get good mem bandwith due to the 5/4.
perhaps a 3.2 EE if it comes down in price :p

the fx is way too expensive as well so...will have to see when i get my new mach 2 gt if i am gonna upgrading anything else as well...

Sorry about Start Menu, didn't realize I hit the button.
    Is this a good score for a P4 2.53Ghz? I was a little surprised because fragletrollet's Athlon XP 1700+ got 48s

Super Pi isn't all about clock speed. It's heavily dependant on FSB. Most of the higher scores have huge FSB's

bandwidth plays a huge part in getting a good time, as do memory timings :)

Core speed helps, but you've got to have the whole package to really get the top times.

i'll agree with bigZ. me and hippo both have durons, both overclock really well. except i get my 1600 to a FSB of 197 and he gets his 1800 to something like 185 i think it was. Yet his beat mine even though mine had the higher FSB and higher clock. his multi was 12.5 and mine was only 12. He however had a better quality and non stressed stick of ddr400 ram in his rig, i had a maxed out ddr266 stick in mine and it showed because even with his lowwer speeds his better memory and thus bandwidth was able to score a second under my score, and about 2 - 3 seconds under if i used the same clock as him.

D'oh, I didn't even check the FSB listed :hehe:, should have realized that.

I'll try it some other time with a higher FSB. I don't want to right now, because I've got a stock heatsink, fan on there. I got a CoolerMaster Jet7 for X-Mas, but as you can tell, ThinkGeek sent me the AMD version, rather than the P4 version. I waited so long to send it back, I think I'll end up just buying a new Jet4.

aye, will be for a while, great time dood :)

I can't keep the FX-53 for long enough to give it some real cooling. Although I can't wait to see what my Mobile Barton will do under ol' chilly one, I might have to get an infinity at the same time for some 250-260fsb lurvin :D

I'm happy with my 44s on aircooling.... hopefully when I reinstall my watercooling, I'll get a bit quicker, then I'll have the fastest Barton 2500+ mwhahahahhaa!
