Nice 32s! I have a buddy who i'll have to get to post here. Got 46s on a 2500-M @ 2.5, SC DDR333. I'll also get him to re-do once he gets some D-400.

I was thinking the same, especially since I'm getting a cooling upgrade soon ;)

errrr, it's built on the same core technology.... and has the same cache. It's just better silicon so can run higher clock speeds with the same voltage. Therefore it's a barton 2500+ surely?

Technically. Or we can call it a Barton 2500++

ah but the idea is to post your current processor, not what you had

and yours is a 2500+ -M meaning it has a lower heat output if i remember right as well... its still not a regular 2500+

    a 2500M is no different to a normal 2500
it is the same as buying a good stepping of a processor because it overclocks well

same processor, just most the element of luck regarding its overclocking is removed, and you are pretty much garaunteed a good clocker

surely the idea is to post different results with different processors, for comparison purposes

next you are going to start saying that people with BH5 cant post results, because it is very good ram and you cant get it any more

This is a little discouraging. 300+ mhz overclocked and no improvement???

from the looks of it it looks like you have loads of crap running in the back ground which will seriously slow it down.

I don't have loads of stuff. I don't think I have anything extra running than on my first test. I would have expected it to have increased even with stuff running

see a 5 second increase is pretty huge. You need a much higher fsb and tight memory timings to get lower. Also most of the guys running high 30's, low-mid 40's will be running on fresh windows installs

I don't want to boost my FSB too much untill I get propper cooling. As for the memory timings, how do I improve those?

In BIOS, not sure what it will be under for you but looks for Memory settings or timings. It may be set my SPD now you want them as small/tight as possible. You will probably need to boost the volts to the ram and it may not like tighter timings at all. Theres a big thing about it in the FAQ

only its not the same processor...

its meant for an entirely different application, its got a lower heat output than a regular Barton 2500+

When i say current processor, I mean the one he's using right now, note, when i changed processors, I no longer continued to keep thinking of my XP2200+ as being the fastest one there was because i wasn't using it as my main system anymore... the idea is to post different processors in different systems, not the same processor in the same system, if the idea was to do that, I'd run all of my chips in my prometia and would have almost the exact same times across 3 different XP chips...

I thought the point of this thread was for showing off/bragging rights?

a mobile barton is exactly the same as a normal barton but it has been hand picked to run stable at 1.45v which gives it its lower heat output. How is buying one of them any different from buying a normal barton with a decent stepping? it's exactly the same core etc blah blah you are just buying it for a specific quality, as is with steppings...
