and 34secs with sse2 patch and a few other tweaks.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v155/TMMTMM/34.jpg 3200+ winchester @ 2542mhz, 1.57v Abit Av8 2x512mb Kingmax pc3700 @ 2.5-3-3-8 and a 5:6 dram:htt divider. stock cooling
Nice, what LDT are you able to run on that Abit? incase anyone needs them superpi, and the sse2 and sse3 patches are uploaded here. Process timer is there as well, gives a slightly more accurate timing. SSE3 patch is for the Prescotts
with the cpu at a 5x multi and the ram at "266" (4:6~ dram:htt), i was able to boot into windows at 290HTT with the LDT at 4* and i ran prime for 30mins fine until i got bored and stopped it (not sure how much this stresses the NB due to the Athlon64 design though....) I haven't tryed more then 290 yet, as im trying to sort out a problem with my ram (doesn't like much over 227mhz in dual chan.. this also happened on my Nf7-s, so im 99% sure its the ram and not the mobo.) Edit: I just got into windows at 305HTT with the LDT at 4*, though it locked up pretty soon after the welcome screen loaded. moving the LDT down to 3* had no advantage, i couldn't get into windows at anything over 305, though it POSTed at 310. Edit2: 33seconds now, and with lower clock speeds [SSE2 patched] 3200+ winchester, 1.53v~ 2x512 kingmax 3700 @ cpu/11 divider, 2.5-3-3-7 1T thats it for now, i played with 1.6v on the stock HSF but lets just say it was a little toasty ... i think i'll wait untill i get something a bit better..
Patched and unpatched. I'm completely stuck, can't get this thing to bench at 2.6GHz The board won't run the ~320HTT I'd need to have my RAM running at it's fullest on a 166 divider either, it'll do 270+ 2-2-2 1T at this rather worrying voltage:
Yay, double post! Managed an improvement but the patched version wouldn't run error-free I'm burning in some more, this thing WILL get to 2.6
you must just have a bad chip then, or your mobo/ram won't do the HTT/fsb.. but it should. im assuming you were running your ram on a divider? edit: also try setting your LDT down to 4x or 3x, that should keep things a little more stable when running higher HTT
Can you post an A64 tweaker screengrab please You might be running some timings too tight or summit.... linky if you need it
modded version of superpi available (see below thread) download it here This WASNT modded by me. There should be sse2 and sse3 versions on the way. Makes thee effects of changes much easier to see, without having to use the process timer. This DOESNT affect the overall pi time. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=54289
try setting the cas to 3 and give it some more volts, 2.8v should be plenty for now (if you haven't already done so)
Athlon XP 2600+ 185MHz FSB 11.5x multpilier PCChips M852 K7 KT400 Mobo (yeas i know its poo too) Ebuyer value 2700 RAM (yes i know its poo) at 2.5:3:3:7 not bad for a poor mobo and ram
I cna't currently post a pic but how is this? P4 2.8 prescott oc'ed to 3.5 IC7G mobo 1gb dual channle xmx pc3200 corsair It did a 37 but I had all my spyware programs running. Good or bad?
managed to get this a few minutes ago will have a bit more of a fiddle tomorrow and try and get below that 32s barrier (if i can)
Nice time What cooling are you running though? 1.775v seems a tad (or a lot) on the high side for a winny....
air cooling only had it at that speed for 5 minutes while i tried pi and that was my first attempt so when i finally get some decent cooling ill see if i can get higher
does the Super-PI indicate how fast the computer will be at raytrace rendering in 3D Studio Max 7 ? price / performance ratio ...as for setting up a rendering farm, less cpu power * more cpu:s in a network and regarding powerconsumption and noise pollution if air cooled
