im currently having issues passing 30 sec, currently the fastest im getting is 30.209 at 2.75 at 1.45v, 250 2.5-3-2-8 at 2.7v
I just can't run both the CPU and the memory at peak performance in this asus board, more voltage does bugger all and getting the memory to 255 means 3-3-2-8, which superpi doesnt like as much as cas 2.5

The DFI Expert sitting in the corner is getting more and more tempting

Get yourself an icy box, and a large IDE drive and a copy of Norton Ghost... and you will never have to write such a post again :thumb:

to bad about the table, got a new best of 34.485, can't get the HTT past 268 and still run SuperPi, think it might be my cheap ram(Corsair Value Select) or the chip just won't go any farther any ideas?

have you lowered the HTT multiplier ? x2.5 or x3 should be fine

yea I lowered the HTT multiplier to 3 and that helped alot but I am still can't take it any farther and still SuperPi
it can go alot farther but is not able to run SuperPi
might buy some new ram and if I buy the ram I will do a dry ice run and get some scores

The ram is on a divider, the ram shouldn't be a problem as it is not yet on its max

Funny enough...I accidentally overclocked my processor tonite. And since I was in Windows when I noticed, I figured I'd go ahead and run Super Pi. :worried: :D

    AMD Athlon64 4000+ 216x12 & HTT 5x (2592Mhz)
    ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
    CorsairXMS TwinX-3500LLPro (2GB)
    Stock cooling

Not too shabby for not even trying. :hehe:

Honestly, I didn't even realize I had overclocked it. I had been playing around in the BIOS and set the RAM to manual @ 400MHz and 2-3-2-6 timings. Then I saw HTT @ AUTO and thought...hmm....that should really be at 5x. Except that appears to make the memory run at its rated speed rather than what I set it to. Good to know. :duh:

good job on the time, but I wouldn't suggest overclocking unless you know what you are doing

LOL! Oh I know what I'm doing.....this isn't my first build or the first time I've overclocked. I just didn't set out with the intention of overclocking at the time.

did anyone read this months pc format (uk)

cant remember the little details like the guys name etc

he used liquid nitrogen to cool a pentium something to about -200  and had it running at 7.1 Ghz long enough to boot windows and run superpi 1 mill test

it completed in 18 seconds

i dont think anything worked afterwardsa but hey who cares

    what a clock
