    Sup all:

    Specs:
    2gb A-DATA DDR2 667 Vitesta RAM
    Infinity 975X/G
    EVGA 8800GTS
    C2D E6600
    ZalmnCNPS 9700
    OS - Raptor 74gb 16mb
    Storage - 500Gb WD

    Question:

I built it for a friend.

    Overclocked in small incriments.
ended up going up to 2.8... thats not bad i understand that its the memory that bottlenecking it im fully aware of it :) but my questions are. could changing the timings of the memory be feasibly? i kind of want to get this beasty to 3.0-3.2

latency for memory is 5.5.5.15 1.8v
all i did was touch up the CPU FSB to 310 and it clocked it to 2.8
anything after that it searches for MAC address im unaware what that means when it searches for mac after that... through the nic... so i guess that means that i technically isnt posting :)

first time ive overclocked so be nice
i definately did my homework on all the parts tho

    3DMark05 - 13782
    Overclocked 3Dmark05 Overclockeded @2.8- 14979

also CPU-Z doesnt recognize the change. at first it did then clocked down.
what else should i read up on to help overclock this? if its too much trouble re-direct me to the right location

thanks im here all day; my college is snowed in
    enjoy your day guys.

The RAM won't start to limit it until at least 333MHz FSB (unless it's faulty).

    What PSU has it got?

be sure to check out this thread...sounds like you need to lower the divider would be my first guess...the e6600 should go to 3.2 to 3.4 easily

im realllly leaning towards memory bottlenecking.

but can i change the voltage of the CPU?
undercharge it to set more fsb?

    :)

i guess when he comes back from leave we will have to upgrade the memory

Some have got this to 4.0 ghz, stable! Try to lower the divider, and lowering the timings.

shoudn't be a ram problem. even no brand ram can go as far as that. you shouold upp cpu voltage and play around a bit.

for more info, check out xtremesystems forum
