My Current Mobo/CPU/Ram is starting to look a little ragged now (My mobo doesnt even support DDR ram :sigh: ) So im going to upgrade. However im on a little bit of a budget. Also i want to have a tinker with overclocking.

I've half decided on the following hardware, does anyone agree or have any other ideas for me ?

    AMD Duron 1800 266FSB CPU - OEM £22.99
    Asus A7V8X-X SKT A KT400 8x AGP DDR Sound/lAN/USB 2.0 £35.87
    Crucial 512 DDR333 PC2700 DIMM £44.99

They sound ok for a budget. COuld you give us a number to work with so as to suggest alternative specs? You will need a heatsink to go with those.

What do you need, are Nforce2 Ultra 400 motherboard, AMD cpu with TB Core, and atleast pc3200 RAM.

    Example:

AMD AthlonXP 1800+ (1533MHz) 256KB L2 cache 266MHz Bus T-bred (maybe you can o/c it to 2800+ or so, if you get cpu with right stepping... cant remember which ones are good though)

Epox Socket A EP-8RDA+ nForce Ultra 400, ATX (cheaper than Abit/Asus)

TwinMOS DDRAM PC-3200 400MHz 256MB CL 2,5 Review (later you can add another 256mb RAM, and then you can benefit from Dual-DDRAM.
