Xbox 360 Overlord on X360

Got mine this morning, been playing it for like 6 houts straight XD

Really cool game, it's not particularly deep and I'm sure I'll complete the game soon, but I was expecting this, so I'm not disappointed at all.

 

Sigh, stupid UPS will probably deliver mine in another 6 hours if I'm lucky >.<

 

I'm going to wait and buy this second hand, this weeks purchase will be Darkness.

Think this one might be a keeper, I enjoy replaying these games, it's got an online component I've yet to check out which is cool.

One thing I have noticed, the sound quality is awful in the final game, you can really notice it when sounds/speech get loud.

EDIT: Hmmm not noticing it anymore, might be because my sound is quieter now since it's late.

It's got 2 player verses and co-op I think, not sure about the secifics.

 

Bought it, big bug on a mission won't let me go any further, replayed, did the same thing. Going to take it back.

 

My wife had seen me play the demo and demanded ago. She loves is so she ordered me to go buy it. It was cheapest in HMV at £37.95 and even better with student discount as she is still at college. Worked out at £34.15. Well i have now been kicked off my xbox and has finally been taken over by her. Im really surprised as she is not into games and the only games she has played in her life are New Mario and Brain acadamy on DS. She has been playing the Tenchu Z demo for 2 days non stop and wants that game too.

Back to Overlord. Been watching her play and get stuck and lost. I have to say it looks great and has alot of comedy in it and all in all is a fun game. This is one of those games I would have turned my nose up at, and walked past in a store, but because it has a demo and they are free to download on xbox live without the needd to buy magazines for demos, they have just got one more sale. I dont get why most games dont have demos, I never buy a game I have not played, ie demo or friends house etc since I made costly mistakes with games on Amiga like Rise of the Robots.

I give this game a thumbs up. Try the demo if your not sure.

 

What bug was that? I'm yet to encounter one.

 

The food one, I killed the guys so I could steal the food, and the minions followed me to the gate, but wouldn't go through, so I went through expecting them to follow and they didn't, they won't go past where the villagers used to stop me with the food now and won't go to the platform.

 

Hmm I've not stolen the food so thats probably why, try directing the food onto the platform manually (hold a lock onto the food and use the RS to move it), and once it's over the platform, hold b to call them all back so they drop it.

You might find that theres something like a mushroom or barrel blocking the way as well.

 

Tried everything like that, nothing happened. Gave up.

 

Ive just done it. You kill all the chefs, turn the wheel so the gates open and your miniuns grab the food and you follow them. THey take it to the plateform where the 3 villagers are and they talk. Then you walk over to the platform so you minions move onto it. They only cover half the circle but it does not matter as you just regroup your minions and they drop the food and mission done and achievement awarded.

Some of my minions haf chef hats and others have mice on their heads. Funny looking and keeping the misses amused.

 

been playing overlord loads recently, went to play GW as a "minion master" and i just wanted to sweep them all over the map destroying everything whilst they ran back and forth bringing me gold and shouting "for yoooouuuu!" Was one of those surreal moments when you realise you should stop playing a game for a while

 

That is the same character my wife plays with in Guild Wars and is probably why she likes this.

Well in that case you cant be evil and kind at the same time lol. If you killed them you cant give them the food lol.

 

But what I said is that it won't let me take the food, they get stuck. I restarted it now.

 

I see you have done it now. Im still waiting for a go, my wife has only given me a couple of 20min slots yesterday lol. She jumped out of bed this morning to get on my Xbox before I could. Im still trying to finish R6 Vegas lol. At least shes at work tomorrow and I have the day off. Maybe Ill play Overlord and try and beat where she is up to
