Modding Overpowering a neon?

    (not sure if this belongs in hardware or modding)

    So, i have this little 5 inch neon, designed to take 12v (obviously).

    The source i wanna use is 14v. I need to know if it would be okay to just plug and go, or if i should get a resister and which one.

    Most likely it will be just fine,
    Car products are made to run off 13.5 volts so 14 volts should be no problem.

    I powered the neon string for my halloween light sabler off 18 volts with zero problems.
