Just found this, this and this. Having just bought one 2nd hand 5770 on here for £50, I think these are a touch overpriced The sad thing is, people seem to have bought them. What is it with ebay and some people's prices?
Lol if you click on the ones thats been sold no one's paid that price for the XFX 5770 the highest price paid was £94.99 and the lowest was £86.99
Oh sorry, missed that. Makes the deal a little bit better Ah didn't check that, but still stupidly high price.
The sad thing is that people have actually bought them. Which means it would be easy enough for one of us to do this and make one big- arse profit. It's also weird that the rest of his items are at normal price. I feel like reporting those items...
I think he's done that cause he doesn't have any stock in, which would save him having to unlist then relist the item, when he gets some in he would put the price back down, its quite common for people to do that
All you need to do is walk into maplins to see how much people get overcharged for gfx cards. And I swear it isn't just a retail knock up. It's genuinely way over what you should pay.
The infamous 9500GT 1GB card springs to mind. Made for retail shops like that. RAM size is the main selling point on boxed GPU's for some reason, and the 9500GT was the lowest end card Nv made, and they stuck 1GB on purely for marketing reasons. Probably sold by the truck load. End up paying twice what you should for a card of that performance.
Ive been tempted to grab a second hand 5850 for my crossfire. But considering that nearly all the used ones where used for bitmining makes me learly. I did see a few 5850's on amazon for $100,000. So I am not surprised that price hikes are being done by people. It seems the whole 5xxx line is rare atm, therefore making them scarce and pricey-ish.
