I'm in the process of restoring one of my Vespa's and would like some suggestions on a good paint stripper for the body parts of which some are steel & others aluminium.

I've had Nitromors (the green one) suggested to me by everyone I've asked so I bought one but I'm not happy with the results - it takes too many applications & too long to even start working.

I was hoping someone can direct me to a decent car / bike paint stripper that will do the job in half the time :baby: (I'm in the UK btw)

Well GOO used brake fluid for stripping stubbourn paint for his roadster, could be a bit aggressive for body panels though.

fine media blasting is the best method outside of sandpaper tbh...

though it depends on if you want to go to bare metal or just through clear coat

Bare metal, and yeah I know media blasting would be best however I don't have the money to get it done so was hoping for a solution I could do myself :)

Unless there are media blasting add-ons for air compressors? As I have one of those ;)

Halfords used to do a recirculating sandblasting tool for around £30 that needed a compressor.

Trichloroethylene should shift the paint but have fun getting hold of it lol.

Could try engine degreaser and a wire brush.

Just found some that look OK on eBay, can't find anything on Halfords site, thanks though.

Another vote for good 'ole brake fluid... I don't think it'd be too agressive, as it was fine on plastic parts - but check on a small patch first to be on the safe side.
