So what type of paint did you use? Also does it feel sticky or tacky... i know some paints give that type of feel even after setting out to dry for a couple of days. Other than that looks damn good!!! keep it up and mod till you drop!
This is what I did to mine: A couple of black layers, then a few layers of clear coat. It doesn't feel sticky in any way, but then again I don't use it much, just once in a while.
3vil-Grin : I used Halford's own brand of Vinyl Spray Paint. It doesn't feel sticky or tacky at all, I did this to my brother's mouse a few months ago aswell and that's still fine! bard That looks damn sweet, good work
Looks good Lord_A I did that to my Intellimouse 3.0 awhile back, although I used a flatter black so it's not so shiney. (Incidentally, had I messed up that mouse, I could've gotten it replaced with a new one. Did you know you could call microsoft, tell 'em you have a bad mouse, give them the p/n number, and get a free one? Worked two or three times for me and many, many times for my greedy friends )
Classy job lordA something i should really do as my mouse looks disgustingly foul. Bard- yours looks like a beetle, also very cool.
Off topic, but KMS-oul, I thought I was the only person in the world to have seen Robot Jox. Watched it a bunch o' times ages ago, but I remember it being pretty good.
I painted my mouse black a few days ago, let it dry for 2 days and then I sanded it down. Everything was going fine and the paint started to be really really smooth, but then I decided that I didn't have enough patience and I brought out the hairdryer. I can guarantee you that plastic can't handle the heat of a hairdryer at 1 cm distance . The plastic of my buttons bent a bit and I spend 1 hour trying to fix it, but I couldn't . So the day after (this Tuesday) I got myself a new nice Intellimouse Optical. I'm busy spraying it, but I'm all out of paint . I hope it'll be ready by tomorrow evening 'cause I have a 3 day LAN then .
Watch it again and you will think otherwise lol. RJ is one of those films you watch years ago thinking its amazing sci-fi masterpiece but not now lol. Its good to watch now for the comedy value , its a bit of a cult classic now amoungst geeks. Now lets keep on topic... RJ talk has already taken over my project log
I painted my IntelliMouse (Exp) with a semi gloss silver. The paint has worn off a little though. (3 coats, no clear coat) It looks a bit rough but I like it, and that's all that really matters. I also stuck on an ugly usb cable that should stand up to punishment better than the stock one.
I just went to buy some paint, since I had run out of it, but the paint I wanted was sold out, so I had to buy this really small (200 ml) spraycan. It's Motip Colourworks Black Higloss Double Covering and I must say: wow! It's amazing. I wanted to do everything correct this time, you know thin layers instead of thick layers etc, so I started to spray the 1st thin layer and I was really amazed. My mouse was totaly black after 1 layer of spray! I stronly suggest that if you're going to spray anything buy this double covering paint, it rocks!
Yeah they all look cool i want to do something like that but i unfortuneatly am supplied by my father and he wont let me . i know very juvinile. o well eventually i'll be outa here
I painted my mouse, but he was spitting out paint for like a week, and actually I liked the feel of his fur before I painted him much better... I wonder if Paint thinner will make him sick... hmmm...
Dude that looks seriously cool actually. I don't think I would personally want my mouse to feel that 'smooth', I prefer the textured feel if you know what I mean. But I really want to achieve that look and finish on my cellphone that I vinyl painted black a few days ago. Any hints and tips on working with clear coats? I've never used it before is it just the same as normal spray paint? (in application I mean)
Yeah seen it before dude it looks really cool the way you left certain bits grey Had that model mouse myself a while back but I found it too big, it made my hand and wrist uncomfortable.
