I’m planning to make my own case from scratch. So, I’m basically looking for a place to cut the acrylic, aluminum and steal. I also need a place that would paint the parts. I would like to find a place that does color shifting and other fancy stuff like that. I found places that do this but I can’t find the links any more. Some of the cuts I’ll have to be cut by a laser because I won think any ones can do < 1mm etches in acrylic for side glow fiber optics. I will think I will want my case to have my babies when I’m done. Right now I am playing with AutoCAD so I can get every thing right in there.
Totally Customised Are professional case modders. Don't laser acrylic but can laser cut aluinium or steel. Also have pro painting setup. Laser Cutter ...in action Video Painting Setup
What country are you in? Because there was a mod where someone had all these parts laser cut and the metal coloured. The mod was done in the shape of a 3 with a computer inside. Not sure if it was on this forum or another, but I'll try and find it.
Do you own the laser or just have access too it/run first offs through a compnay. Also is that a car painting booth? morgan.
Kind of off topic question, but it's got me curious. In the laser cutting video, what's the cutter doing on the first sweep, when it's leaving the outline on the metal? I at first thought that was the laser cutting, but it's obviously not after the second sweep begins...
Probably a test run marking out the arear or if its a a refelctive surface that may be laying down a powder so that the laser doesn't scatter too much. Morgan.
Yeah it's a low bake painting booth. Allows me plenty of space As far as the first run - The material was stainless steel and it is covered in a plastic protective coating so that it doesn't get marked while it's being moved around the workshop. The laser first burns off the plastic at low power then sets to the steel on the second pass.
