At the mo I have got a thermochill 120.3 which is matt black, so I want to spray paint it silver to match the rest of my case and the 3 titan alu fans that are attached to it.

Is there a certain type of paint you guys would reccomend using, and what do I need to do to prep it so I get a good finish?

    Thanks.

Surely any paint will impede the radiator's heat-transfer properties.

Plus the chances are that it would massively block the airflow through the radiator.

If it is made of aluminium then you could look into having it anodised...

You can paint everything but the fins....If you want it all to be painted just spray a few super light coats just to cover most of the surface.....Was it spray at an upward or downward angle? I cant remember..

edit: after taking a look at the radiator it would be fine to paint the *casing* that holds the actually radiator but silver on black fins would look tight so I wouldnt worry about the fins personally...Just sand the casing down...Prime...Paint....Buff....Clearcoat...

I guess you just mean the casing, not the actual fins.

If so then just paint it as in any other metal object, careful not to get it onto the fins as doing so may impede airflow and therefore performance.

EDIT: lightly sand it, wash it, mask of the fins, couple coats of primer, few coats of normal, then perhaps some sealer. When spraying just follow the instructions on the can, bout 30cm away, light coats, etc...

I wasn't planning on painting the fins, because a) I know it will effect the performance b) the gaps in the fins are *very* small so the paint would clog them up c) you can;t see the fins anyway because the fans cover then :)

I'll go and have a lok at primers and paints tomorrow - anyone got suggestions of any they know are good?

I recommend you rub down the casing with some wet and dry before you do this
Will help the paint adhere easier.
