Bought a pair of JABRA Move Wireless headphones along with a TaoTronics Portable Wireless Audio Adapter for my good lady to use with the TV as she has quite bad hearing and not all channels have sub titles. So Ii need to get them both to speak to each other except the instructions are for pairing with a phone which of course has a screen so you can se what is happening. I have them both on and I assume searching but the headphones are telling me to switch on a phones bluetooth whilst the receiver just sits there flashing. Absolutely no idea what to do next? There must be lots of you that have this type of thing set up so any help gratefully received.
You're not going to get those two working together, I'm afraid. They're both audio receivers, not transmitters. The headphones are, as you know, designed to pair with a Bluetooth device in order to receive audio and play it through your lugholes; the wireless audio adapter is designed to pair with a Bluetooth device in order to receive audio and play it through any device with a 3.5mm input (like a non-Bluetooth AV receiver, stereo, car entertainment system, or what have you.) Return both units to the shop. Then buy a cheap pair of wireless headphones with bundled transmitter. Plug the transmitter into the TV's headphone socket; switch headphones on and stick on head; listen with joy.
Thanks for that, Doh. Unfortunately they are are a birthday present and bought some time ago even though the birthday in question is today, so returning them is not an option. So can you recommend a transmitter? Edit: Oops just been looking at my order from Amazon and I had this in my basket but for some reason bought the receiver. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-...&sr=1-3&keywords=bluetooth+transmitter+for+tv
Yeah, that should work. Doing it via Bluetooth is the complicated way of doing it, mind, but if you can't return the headphones then that dongle will at least let you use 'em.
