Windows Partitioning a hard drive.

    If i put a 70gb partition on a new hd, to fit windows7 into, what do i do with the unallocated part of the hard drive that is left.

    Make it into an extra partition and use it for storage.

    I usually use it for backup purposes..

    I would personally use the extra partition for data so that if Windows does mess up you can re-install it without losing any data.

    Personal preference here but a backup to me should always be on a different hard drive as if your backing up to the same hard drive and the drive fails you lose your original copy of your data and the backup copy of your data
