Before the final assembly could commence, there was one important job still left to do. Cut the tubing!

Thankfully that didn't take very long :D

Final preparations to the block, GPU power attached, tubes inserted and greased.

    So close now!

Once the block is pressed into place 4 screws secure it in position.

With everything united the exterior cladding of the case can go back.

I guess that just leaves... coolant...

Sorry I couldn't get more pictures of the process, most things required about 9 hands to simultaneously align pipes, screws, cables, risers and the physical part which fits the case with 1mm clearance on all sides. The block looks to have sealed perfectly and things are gradually settling in.

As with most builds there are a few little things that need addressing before it's finalized. The pump is if anything a little too effective and the PCIe riser is dangerously short, easily solved, at least the block is solid.

Wonderful. Not sure if I think red coolant is the best choice of colour (milky white perhaps would've been better), but the entire build just oozes of quality.

I saw something that worried me. The pcie riser covers a fan. I hope there's something to keep the fan from sucking the riser and plugging the fan.
    Everything else is typically insane.:thumb:

Awesome, but one question - how did you tighten the tubes on the cpu cooler since they looked coverd by the insane block.
And the red coolant is perfect.

Indeed there is, the fan blows toward the riser, so that's all good. And the spider keeps it from touching the blades.

    **** the bed.

They are the old style crystal link push-in fittings, originally intended for tightly spaced GPU links before it became extremely cool to use them for entire loops. They seal against the outside of the pipe with just two o-rings, it's nice because they are extremely slender and short compared with a compression fitting. A little silicon grease and a chamfer helped persuade them to locate and push together.

Omg, this is just art man. Did a mod with this case before and was thinking about more possibilities to modify it. And this is brilliant!!! Great job

    MOT-YEAR nomination perhaps ?
Well done and by far the coolest reservoir I have seen or wait. There is no reservoir except the block = Brilliant

Just a speedy update to say MATE is living! We had been waiting on a slightly longer PCIe riser cable to get the 980 up and running. The problems with the pump and coolant have also been somewhat mitigated by switching out the coolant for Mayhems X1.0 Blood Red. Whether its just better bled than before we aren't sure but the coolant is taking on far less air as it blasts around keeping the pump just a little quieter.

We have since installed an OS onto the HyperX and given everything a good thrashing with some benchmarks. The 980 underachieves very slightly which we put down to the riser but the loop is running very well holding CPU and GPU temps below 55°C while looping Valley. We will be taking it to a LAN this weekend so expect another little update :)

Just a couple of pics of MATE running in the daylight today, the coolant has settled down properly and is now looking nice and translucent. All that's left to complete is the side panels then it's off to final photos.
