Seems rather large. A decent twin-fan rad could probably run passively.

Probably not, since most of their surface area is internal. Radiation plays a much bigger role in passive cooling, and having fins stacked next to one another is simply not going to radiate heat. They are also a little too restrictive to allow for airflow due to convection.

I would strongly suggest you e-mail the maker of this flow meter and ask what the pressure drop would be at YOUR systems flow rate.

Companys making flow meters often claim low pressure drop.......they just forget to tell you at what flow rate thier messurement was taken at.

Most paddle wheel type flow meters have pretty high pressure drop.

Plenty of people seem to have done it. They didn't all have massive reservoirs either.

I think this was in reply to my thread! I will try and do that but in any case I'm at the low end of the flow range with a L20.

Yeah i agree i think it looks smart, like one of those designer radiators. It might appease my missus more if she likes the look of the cooler.

I tried shutting down all my fans once on my W/C... not a very good idea. I have 2 rads (1 singe and one dual). I left it on over night and fortunately woke up in the middle of the night to check it. The computer had crashed and the water was extremely hot :eeek: ! You could barely touch the Al res. (system was 2700+ and Radeon 9700 pro - both OC'ed).
