lol, I love it. There's a full-service gas station about a mile from my house. I just pay weekly. Drive up, say hello as they pump gas, check oil, etc.., tell 'em to put it on my tab, and drive off. Yeah, I'm kinda lazy but I love it.
    BTW it's about $1.95/gal here for 87.

I was referring to Asda mainly, there seems to be nothing inplace as the forecourt is absolutely tiny in the middle of no where local to me.

Not picking on Mr B, but dont forget for all us poor people this side of the pond he'd actually pay $2.44 for a gallon. The gallon measurement the US uses is only three quarters of a gallon, there's 20 fuid ounces (or 568ml) in a pint for most of the world outside the US. The main difference in price is the amount of tax we have to pay - the actual cost of the fuel is about the same as in the US :(
Unleaded is 85.9 pence a litre here (approx £3.90 a gallon or £3.12 / $5.89 for a us gallon) and the reason I pay at the kiosk is that most of the garages round here have blocked up all the card slots in an attempt to stop fraud. they havent disabled the bleedin button though so you still have to press teh kiosk button :(

    O/T
Why can't the US officialy adopt Metric like everywhere else? - they discussed it in congress in the mid 19th century after all. I know people go on about why should they change, it's out identity blah blah blah etc. We've even changed in the UK and don't forget that it's less than 35 years ago that sterling went decimal :) until then we had 244 pence to the pound. Though we still have luddites that cling to the old non metric measurements - though anyone my age and younger would only have been educated in metric.

Before anybody else mentions it, the US is one of only three countries that hasnt gone metric, Burma and Liberia are the others.

We should start a new thread on this. I Feel the same way. True it would take time to convert every road sign to KM, and every gallon of milk into a "old gallon" of milk, but it can be done.

oop, bit late perhaps :) However. All the pumps i have seen are in nottingham. In fact i went to one last night, and two a week ago (one WAS in scotland actually) and none had pay at pump. One was jet at a service station, but one was a small town one, so i guess it wasnt expected there :) One was in bakewell too, so i dunno what to say about that! :)
