Ok, I'm looking to buy something online, but I don't want my parents (who are cosigns on my checking acct), to see what. If I bought it via paypal, using my debit card, would the specifics of the purchase show up on my debit card statement?

    thanks.

nah, that's why my parents yell at me after paying extra for the internet bill after I go over the download limit :D.

It's a gift for my girlfriend that my parents wouldn't exactly approve of. :worried:

thanks for the confirmation, that's what I thought would happen.

Be warned my PayPal stuff comes up with the seller's name in it. i.e. PAYPAL *DAMAGE INC or whatever. So to paraphrase Lock Stock, you wouldn't want to talk to your bank manager about a refund from PAYPAL *ASS TICKLERS INC.

Be double-sneaky and set up another paypal account.

Gift yourself the money into that one, and pay with the paypal balance of the new account?

No PAYPAL *ASS TICKLERS INC on your bank statement then.

After further investigation (the things I will do for Bit-Tech!) it appears that paying by Debit/Credit card causes the name to be included, but direct debits from your bank accoutn show up as PAYPAL PAYMENT.

    As such:

Just remember that if they decide to check your paypal account that they WILL be able to see the specifics of the item.

I love the fact that bit has gone to this level of effort to hide stuff from parents, reminds me of the school days of 'OMG we've just got this new-fangled broadband thing, does this mean pr0n will show on the bill?!'
