Does anyone know of a resource that lists pc cases by weight?
I've used a number of cases and these days they tend to weigh a ton.
I've got an old super lanboy and its still the lightest case I have.
I stupidly messed it about a few years back and have been looking for a nice light replacement, for ages.
The ARC Mini I have is good but very heavy.

Price and size would be a good start, also what you are planning on putting in it.

I don't have a list, but this one might be a suitable lightweight replacement for yours.

Light weight usually means aluminium, which usually means £££. There aren't many options under £150, and that one isn't a new case, it you are restricted to low profile CPU coolers.

    bulldogjeff:

I was seeing if someone knew of an external resource that had that sort of data, so i could look at the various options, tradeoff etc, without bothering people.

Currently my test box contains 8 * 2TB 2.5" samsung/seagate drives (2*2.5" is a lot ligher than 1 * 3.5" and takes up the same amount of space with the right adapter) as a raid 6, fronted by 2 * 120 GB 2.5" ssds as a raid10 mirror (I'm using bcache btw)

I've got a small ssd 120 GB for the os (ubuntu), which I'll upgrade along with the mb etc later.

I can get by with a uatu board because I'm using as Intel LSI SAS1068E card, which was cheap and reliable., but has limitations (max 2tb disk size).

Price is important but not that important: I'm more of a "because its there" sort of person.
Practicalities mater as I want to lug it about from time to time, but to be honest I solved this problem by having computers both at Plymouth and Bath. So I guess it because I don't want to defeated by this.

Spreadie: Its a nice case, thanks, slighty lighter than the slb it seems, unfortunately it only has 2 internal 3.5" slots.
