    Can anyone help...
ive been having problems with my main pc/gaming rig for a few days...
when i turn on the power supply and press the power switch it starts then maybe a second later it turns off, this will happen for several minutes and then eventually it will turn on....
i went to turn it on today and nothing.
i have a psu checker and when i plug the power supply into it it works correctly i think, if i plug the main 24pin nplug into it ...all the fans fire up that run off the psu , the hard drive starts an so does the dvd......
i have a light on the motherboard when it is plugged in.
is it a dead motherboard...or cpu???
not sure what to try next

This is the same computer you overclocked with some nasty Alienware motherboard? Thats the thing I'd think of.

First off have you tried clearing the CMOS by removing the battery on the mobo to reset your BIOS settings and remove any overclocks?

Definately sounds like a motherboard issue though the same thing was happening to me when i accidentally shorted my motherboard out on a CPU backplate.

Ph4ZeD, it isn't the same person, that was someone else :)

Do you have a speaker plugged into your motherboard? Do you get any beeps or anything? Or literally nothing? If so...sounds like a dead motherboard to me :( This is after clearing CMOS, btw :)

Does the GPU starts? cant you hear the beeps from the system booting up?

Is your reservoir inside the case close to your GPU?? I had a watercooled system before, my reservoir was inside the case and overclocked the GPU, the temperatures went up and some evaporation caused problems on my MOBO.

    That's the most likely candidate.
