I swear i saw a sticky on advice on how to keep your pc running smoothly and fast but i cannot find it, if i have blindly missed it can someone link it? Otherwise.. I got a pc running slow as hell and due to circumstances i can not format it. Apart from defragging the hard drive, disk clean up, scanning for viruses/Trojans/etc and generally keeping everything up to date im at a loss at what else to do to it. Also spending money on new part's isn't an option either. Am i missing something obvious or do system installs get that bad after 5ish years of use that its to be expected?
Apologises for not including in the original post and i think i found the problem anyway, it hasn't even got a full gig of ram in there, i guess 1 of the sticks has recently died. Thanks for the reply anyway
