Windows pc problem (steam problem)

    i know its not modding but when i try to play hl2 dm i get an application error saying something about memory
    can someone tell me how to fix?

    Can you maybe take a screen shot of the error? A few details would be necessary for us to help you, but from the little bit you've stated, I'm assuming it's either because you have less than 256MB of RAM, or your virtual memory is set to 1kb. So post that screenshot and we'll sort it for ya (screen shots are taken by pressing "Prt Scr/Sys Rq", then going into a program like Paint, and pressing paste)

    heh lol read my sig im running 512 it may be at 1 but gimme a sec to get it up if it does it again ill take a shot im reinstalling steam and hl2

    i have a problem i reinstalled steam and updated hl2dm and cs when i click then on cs it locks up on the menu and then hl2 dm it doesnt do anything but changes my size to 800x600 and i norm. run 1024x 764 but it doenst show anything know how i can fix this?

    I'de try to help as i had a few HL2 errors myself. However i am tired and can hardly make out a word you said. Try cleaning up your grammer man, your even english so you should know how to use comma's and periods.

    hey man this was happening with me all the time with this and many other games and i think its a bug that HL2 carries with it but anyway i just put in some new RAM and it worked and also got the DNA drivers for my X800 pro so i wud try 1 of them depending on ur situation, Ice

    ram is out of the question ill check for videocard drivers now
    and by the way this is a forum not a school so there is no since in using perfect grammer

    I used to get the memory error all the time when i played, seemed to be due to an overclock as when I backed off to default speeds it went away.

    Unfortunately there are other instances (search the Steam forums) of this happening when not OC'ed with no standard cause that has yet been found (other than running hl2.exe of course)
