    Hello guys,

I'm hoping someone can help - I've got a really strange problem with my PC.

When I load rFactor, the game causes my PC to reboot. It happens about 2 seconds after you get to the main menu, where there is a 3d car spinning on a platform. The computer freezes for about 2 seconds, and then reboots.

I put the settings down to the lowest, i.e. 800x600, no AA, no AF, and no VSync, and the game loads, the game still freezes for the 2 seconds, but then the game carrys on, and is totally playable like normal. When I put the graphics back up to full, it crashes.

Call of duty 2 freezes for a couple of seconds at the main menu too, but the pc never crashes.

    The setup:

    Intel x6800 EE
    Asus 650i mobo
    2gb Corsair XMS ram (667)
    XFX 7950 GX2 (1gb)
    36gb raptor, and 2x 250gb samsung drives
    Onboard sound (yuk)

    XP Home, sp2

Currently clocked to 3.35ghz, and around 795mhz ram. - I tried setting the OC back to standard, and it made no difference.

It's driving me mad! - any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    al.

Sounds like a memory fault. Have you checked your temperatures first though?

Turns out it was my graphics card.

Borrowing a 7900GTX off a mate until I can afford a new one. Ho hum.

That's weird, are you sure? Seems weird how a graphics card can corrupt RAM.

100%. running the same old ram again, and it passes memtest with no issues.
