Recently my Computer has randomly been restarting for no reason, after it restarts it tries to boot up but the bios can't see the hard drive. I though it might be a faulty power lead or sata cable but I've changed these and the problem is still happening and getting worse it happened 4 times last night.

If I leave the computer 5 min before trying to switch it on again it works fine.

It's a new build PC is only a month old.

    Specs:

    Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 P55
    I5 750
    4gb corsair
    500gig spinpoint f3

maybe a memory issue.. reset the cmos and try 1 stick at a time and see if you can narrow it down

I'll give it a try as this is driving me crazy!

Anyone know if this could be a sign of the hard driving dieing? Although i've never heard of a problem like this or a hard drive failing after 1 month.

If you have a faulty drive there is more of a change of it failing early

Usually if the drive fails the computer just freezes though not restarts.
