i have just ordered a Audigy 2 ZS sound card to replace my onboard sound and a set of Inspise P580 5.1 speakers with it

so i was just wondering would i be able to somehow connect my PC to my Tv so that when i watch tv or a DVD the sound would come out of the 5.1 Speakers

or would it be better to just disconect the 5.1 Speakers and plug them into the back of my TV

also as iam here what do you think of the sound card and speakers i have choosen

    Thanks

If you plan on using it as a HTPC in your Hi-Fi rack, don't bother with the 5.1 PC speakers, unless you want to mess with switching the settings every time you want to use one or the other output. if you connect it to your receiver, make sure you use the SPDIF (either optical or coax, whichever you have a free input for on your receiver) instead of the sound card's decoder. If you were hell bent on using the s/c decoder, you could get three splitters for mini-stereo to RCA and then run a HUGE snake of cables to your 6 channel input on the receiver, but a single optical/coax is much cleaner, and the optical won't be distorted by other signal cables that cross over it along the way.
