abit ip35 pro q6600 2gb ballistix hd3870 pcs 512 ddr4 tagan 500w dualengine antec nine hundred so why does my machine on a shutdown power off then on again and bootup? I've got no idea why this happens:S It did it with my old case aswell so it's not some stupid power switch problem so i can't work it out. i haven't changed anything in the bios for wake on lan or anything like that? unless its on already? any ideas.i usually leave it on but when i wanna just use the lappy i don't enjoy getting under the desk to turn the psu switch off... cheers
The BIOS may have many wake features. Some mobos wake on activity from VGA (monitor), PCI master (any PCI card), LAN, Modem, Keyboard/Mouse... Also check your Windows power settings (in Control Panel) and shutdown settings. That "Shut Down" icon you are clicking may actually be configured to perform a Restart.
nope its not overheating.i always check my temp and have very good cooling as for if AC loss=off power on. isn't enabled... as for wake nope... wierd... oh and the shutdown button is set to turn off not restart.
Ah, now. I remember having this some time ago.. it was a conflict with some software.. umm... something to do with Roxio, definately. Whether that helps..?
Many of the Tagan PSU's do this when extra power is demanded, such as when overclocking CPU and GPU. Mine does the same at power on, something to do with splitting the rails I think. At lower power demand it just switches on as normal.
My PC was doing it adn still does, and was due to the Razer Copperhead mouse driver, thou windows did tell me it recovered from an error, are you getting any messages when it turns back on?
nope mate no errors or nothing:S auto restart isn't enabled either. weird.and annoying.its my server manly so its usually on but like still annoying.
