I used to subscribe to PC Zone many years ago. Sad to see them go, but then this is what happens when the internet takes over ;)

PC Zone used to be fantastic. Around 3 years ago, they re-shuffled, and went to Future, and its been absolutely pants since, I got bored of it and cancelled the sub I'd had for over 5 years.

I remember getting the demo for Half Life from a PC Zone disc. Good times.

WHAT? I USED TO LOVE PC ZONE

I won my first ever PC from them! It was a competition for Z Steel Soldiers, and had one of those amazing Coolermaster ACTS-200's or whatever they were called.

Used to be fantastic, such good reviews, but I really havent read it in the last 5 or so years..

    Sad times. RIP.

I used to LOVE reading PCZone - so funny.

The writing was great as well. I still remember the final words of their Total Annihilation: Kingdoms review

"fantastic - in every sense of the word"

    - It wasn't though - not by a long way.

I'll be sad to see it go, and I hope it's not an indicator of PC Gaming health! I just rediscovered it after some years on my Xbox!

Gutted. I grew up reading PC Zone, as it had an unique way of writing, which was certainly more interesting than the other competing magazines. :(

Shame but can't say I'm surprised, everything you see on the covers of these games magazines you've read on the internet, a few weeks before, for free.

I'm gutted too, I have an active subscription although it gets delivered to another address so I'm not sure when it was last received.

    Just cancelled my direct debit.

It had been going downhill for a few years, with frequent staff changes and many issues with only one or two journalists writing all the reviews. Still, it's why I got into PC's and gaming in the first place. RIP.
