Just wondering what "max safe" PCI and AGP frequencies you guys would recommend? Just wondering as I'm on a KT400 chipset and so can only use a 1/5 divider but want higher FSBs. As long as it's stable should it be ok? I'm currently using a 189MHz FSB (so that's 37.8/75.6) and everything is running stable but would like to try and get a little higher if possible.

PCI and AGP default frequencies are: 33/66Mhz

Now the safest range for the PCI is from: 30-37.5Mhz -Soyo Overclocking

I don't exactly know how much tolerance your cards can take since they depend on the manufacturer and certain elements I would suggest increasing the divider, if you can, for higher frequencies.

As for the problem related to "as long as it is stable, it works" with the increased frequency, there is a chance for data corruption although it may not seem apparent since the data is not only checked it is not that important, in relative terms. It is really up to you to decide if you want to go higher. "Faster is better but right is better than wrong"

Ive run 88/44 before but usually 37-38 you tend to stress PCI and IDE components more. Remembering that even stuff like onboard NIC/audio/modem etc are all connected to the PCI bus too.

As with everything OC - do it till it says no more ;)

Have had a kt333 up to 195 FSB stable and KT400 up to 210 without any probs... Nvidia cards will deal with high AGP frequencies better than ATI and thigsn like NIC's or Capture/TV cards will suffer more with high FSB's as well....

72-74Mhz AGP is the max you'll get from an ATi card.

the max I've ever run on PCI was 39Mhz
