    Hey,
I'm wanting to put two more NICs on an ITX board, but rather than have to buy a dual riser, then 2 flexible extenders, i thought, hey why not just solder em together myself.

So anyone know what you need to make a PCI expander?

I've no suiteable doners for the male and female bits.

So if i just solder if together, anyone know the specifics of the bus. I thought most dual risers were passive?

AFAIK pci is very sensitive to trace length and associated gubbins so if you need reliability it may be better to buy one.

those risers are using a special chip for stability and keeping up the speed it may be hard to make one yourself
