I am not sure if this is the right forum: Mods please move to correct forum if needed.

I have a Sony PDA that I bought an AC adapter for on ebay. One thing that worries me is that the AC adapter says that Output voltage is 12VDC, 4000mA, 3.6W (MAX). My Clie says that it needs 5.2V @ 300mA. Will this AC adapter fry my Clie or will the Clie just draw what it needs from the adapter? :eeek: Sorry for noob question but I don't want to mess up my PDA.

*EDIT* The AC adapter is providing 400mA not 4000.

i would say dont try it
another way of looking at it is charging batteries with more than rated voltage
    or 12v to a 5v led
