Though I have heard bits on pelter units, I have not seen much reviews etc.

Are they worth it? or just a lot of hassel?

Before You Purchase a peltier: (its not a magic device)

Extra care and attention to condensation makes it an extra overhead. Not to mention all sorts of considerations.

If you want to know the do's and don't's check this out

    here

    Don't have nightmares ;)

Let me know if it helped in your decision?

it definately makes me need to plan a bit more.

my waterblock (swiftech mcw462) - where I got the idea - is up to it.

I'm so happy with my water setup, as I can't help telling everyone, that I don't want to screw it up.

but 20c under load does sound nice.....

I wonder if a low rated pelt coupled with a Alpha PAL-8045 and a high powered fan (delta or sanyo-denki maybe ?) would be an effective cooling solution ?

    What do you think ?

If you follow Spawny's link it says there that if you have an intel you are in luck, but if you have an Athalon then a s*** load of hassel follows.

By default AMD runs hotter than Intel (I feel sick) so that I suppose is the problem.

I'm no guru on Peltiers, just thought it would help.

The condensation is a major issue for me.

Oh you must be in that special place again, Kevo ;) Mad.

Swiftech has some good instruction on condensation, cover everything around the cpu with silicon and stick a thick gasket over the top. No air = no condensation. Simple:D

Encasing your CPU, Socket, Peltier and water block in polystyrene is ment to work quite well against the fight against condensation.

And me in a Special Place?!?!?!?! Never ;)

    Big names better quality

You can't go wrong by sticking to some of the bigger names and Swiftech must be up there.

When working with water and anything else related to it be prepared for the worse, then it can only get better.

I'm sure it will be like riding a bike once you have taken the plunge you won't look back.
